Description The hotel and restaurant can be found directly in the historical heart of the town of Polizzi Generosa and has direct access within the grounds to the main piazza. The hotel although small is most welcoming and its ancient walls give way to fantastic panoramic views. Most rooms are situated on the first floor and have easy access to the restaurant and wine bar where you can sample some of the delicious local specialities. In the summer months there are gardens where you can sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity with a cooling glass of prosecco. We also arrange wine tasting here in warm weather with all explanations of the wines being in English. Also this year there will be a literature café held within the beautiful dome room where you can read and buy all information on the local area and national park. When you first view the town of Polizzi Generosa from the motorway it almost seems as if it is hovering above the clouds. This historic mountain town is famous within the Madonie Park for its elevated position and noble past. This is definitely a place for the culture vulture and those wanting to enjoy the Madonie national park area, whilst being very close to the coast. There are several choices of accommodation and the food in the hotel restaurant is highly recommended and uses all local produce. The hotel rooms are very well laid out and have lovely antique furniture with ensuite facilities. The wine bar is equipped for around 30 people and we will organise themed evenings and wine tasting. The bar has a touch screen TV for info on wine production and Sicilian gems will come along to explain. The pastry shop at the front of the hotel is one of the most famous in the Madonie area. You will find lots of local specialities. There is a museum that is private on the estate but has no English translation. 4 euros for adults and 2 euros for children entrance fee. Please access the steps to the museum with care. This hotel is set within the old castle walls and has small passageways that are not suitable for wheel chairs.
