Holiday rental options in Sicily?

Sicily has a wide variety of Holiday rental accommodation available to tourists. This includes Holiday Villas, Holiday apartments, Hotels, Agriturismo ( farm stays ) and bed and breakfasts.  Each form of accommodation offers different advantages and will give the visitor a different experience of Sicily

“So what is the most suitable type of Sicilian holiday rental accommodation for you ?”

Holiday villas in Sicily normally can accommodate between 4 and 12 people depending on the size and layout.  This allows larger groups or families to stay together and be self sufficient during their stay and not be tied to specific meal times and have privacy away from other visitors. Although a villa may seem expensive for a weeks stay it is important to remember that if it is a villa for 8 then the price needs to be divided by the eight people to be compared against other types of accommodation such as hotels or smaller apartments.  Larger villas often have a swimming pool and or a large terrace which allows clients to make the most of the Sicilian sun.

Holiday apartments in Sicily offer the same advantages of the holiday villas but can often accommodate smaller numbers so if you are just a couple or a small family then they can be more cost effective. Apartments also are often located in or closer to town centres than villas so they give better access to these places if the visitors do not chose to hire a car and rely on public transport to get about.

Hotels in Sicily offer the visitor the full range of services, meals laid on a set times in the restaurant, rooms serviced and cleaned during your stay and other facilities such as hotel bar, terrace areas and swimming pool.  Hotels can also offer excursions and information on the local area.

Agriturismo ” or farm stay accommodation was traditionally in Sicily a room let by the farmer in his farm house or out buildings.  Today the owners of Agriturismos are much more modern in their approach whilst retaining their authentic rural experience for the traveller.  They are still based on operating farms and you will usually be able to sample the local produce.  Often they are just like small hotels offering Bed and Breakfast, sometimes half board and sometimes even have a small kitchenette in the room to allow guests to cook for themselves if they want.

Bed and breakfasts in Sicily offer the basics required for a clients holiday and gives the most flexibility for short stays or for very small groups. If you are thinking of a tour around the island then often B&B is the best option as you can stay one or two nights at each travelling between then to tour the island.

As can be seen from above there are so many options available, the pages on our website dedicated to Holiday rental accommodation offer examples of these and we are also able to source other accommodation in other locations not shown if you fill in your requirements on our “Sicily Tailor Made” page and we will get on the case for you and arrange the ideal holiday for you.
