 The Hotel Poseidon is ideally situated in the historical town centre of the tranquil Island of Lipari in the beautiful Aeolian Islands. It is situated just one hundred metres from the old port and the bus terminal which allows guests the best access to the Island and to the rest of the Aeolian Island chain. It is also just a short walk from the main road, the castle and the archaeological museum.
The hotel is a beautiful old villa which has been lovingly restored and enlarged, typical of the area and still keeps the typical Aeolian Island atmosphere and style. The hotel offers single, double, triple and quadruple rooms, all with the comfort of a bathroom with shower, direct phone, fridge, safe, individual air conditioning and satellite TV.
The hotel offers just 18 lovely rooms which all face a sweet smelling garden with trees and flowers that allows you to enjoy the piece and quiet of the islands. The hotel also offers a Solarium for enjoying the Aeolian Island sunshine. The hotel is run by a lovely Aeolian family that offer a quality service as well as a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The hotel is 100m from the sea and 2Km from the excellent beach at Canneto. The restaurant has an intimate bar and is very close to the restaurants in the town for guest to sample the delights of Aeolian Island Cuisine. The staff speak both English and French and a baby sitting service is available on request.
Lipari is the largest and most heavily populated island in the Aeolian Islands archipelago, originally established as a charming fishing village it still retains these qualities especially out of season. Also the volcanic nature of the island has given the obsidian and pumice deposits that are the second resource to tourism now for the island. The scars on the landscape of the pumice mines are all around you when you venture deeper into the island from the town.
